I like the nose fairing but as Wrighty says, looks fine without. If it's getting in the way of the bars then maybe leave it off, the bars look good as is. I guess the fairing could be 'adjusted' to fit better.

;D I'm going to service the ol girl but got the MOT next Friday so will do it after that......Want to keep some money back incase she fails on stuff, everything seems to work but I'm not sure about the indicators. They seem to flash quite fast, none of the bulbs are out/no other lights are affected when they're on, they just flash quite fast. Not sure if there's a 'limit' on the speed of the flash or not?

Dungbug any queries you have regarding MOT let me know and can pop over to the test station we use across the road from the shop ! The GN is a strong little motor so good choice there, parts wise you should not have much problem getting spares.. Cheers chap, very helpful. ;D Yeah I've heard good stuff about these bikes, admittedly she's done a bit of leg to the tune of 40k. I'm sure in her 'youth' she'd have achieved a better top end than she does now but to be honest I don't want to cane the ol girl, just ride/get experience/enjoy and so on. ;D

part-syntheic is best on old engines like the GN, most important thing is to use motorcycle spec oil, car derived oil will wreck your wet clutch. Perfect, thank you gent.

I'll be looking to do an oil change (& filter) on the GN within the next month or so, but I'm unsure which will be the best oil to use. Some stuff I've read say part synthetic & others say full synthetic (?) Which is going to be best for the GN (125), it's done 40k so it's done some leg. Thanks.
