I had a go at checking the diaphragm yesterday evening, unfortunately the head to carb rubber diddn't take too well to the carb being twisted & the cracks became more like splits The clamps were very loose btw but I think the rubber was too brittle to be pulled about, so I bodged sealed the cracks with some heavy duty adhesive that I used indoors the other week. She starts & runs fine & seems to 'lag' as badly as she did before so this rubber was certainly part of the problem. so plan is to order a new one & diaphragm & change them both at the same time rather than replace the rubber & then have to try and repair the diaphragm. If the diaphragm is fine I'll leave it & know that I have a spare, if it needs changing I've got it to hand. Just need to find a parts supplier now, Wemoto don't seem to list these bits on their website.

As per title, must cover 2000 (V plate model). I need one so thought I'd ask if anyone has one knocking about before I buy one new, cheers. ;D

That sounds really harsh, especially the Jag sitting behind you. If you're doing the speed limit & overtaking then then why would you pull back over? I wouldn't do it. My mate failed his Mod 1 a few months back under 'dubious' reasoning, maybe they need to keep the failure rate down or something(?). P*ss poor though as you've got to go through it again, chin up bud, you'll get it next time!

Hey Terra, I got home tohinght & sprayed some WD40 on the rubber between the carb & and head & the rev's picked up for a few seconds then settled down again so that's definately iffy. I'll pull the top of the carb off, probably be this Friday afternoon as I've got half day leave for a job interview.......Hopefully I'll have time after the interview to get home & look at the carb. The previous owner was the local training centre who've had it for a couple of years so I'm assuming nothing has been changed to 'improve' MPG or performance. It's looking like they've increased the fuel mxture to compensate for the leaky rubber, I'll probably have to make some adjustments when that rubber is changed as it'll be revving more.

Cheers Terra, haven't checked the diaphragm yet. Will probably look this weekend, I did notice this morning that the rubber between the carb & head has some hairline cracks in it so possible airleak there I think, or the potential for one anyway. Might be an idea to replace this at some point soon, overall performance seems ok, she revs nicely & get's up to a reasonable speed but then seems to run out of steam around 45mph/50mph. I did noticed that the choke has to be on for it to keep running, if the choke is closed she cut's out. I guess this would point towars an airleak somewhere, the extra choke seems to be keeping it going.

Is this a big/difficult job to do? I'll be having a look this weekend at it. Also any idea where I can get the Diaphragm? Wemoto don't list it. Cheers.

Noticing a slight problem with the GN, she revs fine and pulls through the gears accept when I put it into 5th then it seems to 'bottom out'. The power seems to tail off and it de-celerates slightly, if I ease of the throttle and wind it back gradually it'll pick up again. I don't know when it was last serviced so could be a cacky plug or something basic, she fires up & idles without any problem, don't think it's fuels related, kinda 'feels' like an electrical problem. The bike in question is a 2000 Suzi GN125, any pointers/advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

That GSXR1216 looks lovely. There was a Z400 for sale at the MOT place I was at this morning, probably a good thing that I don't have a full license otherwise I would have been painfully tempted.....He joked he'd do me a p/x on the GN as well. ;D
