Yup, I agree with dungbug. When I was about to start work on restoring a KH250, it was put to me that there are loads of restored original examples about so why not just do my own thing? If yours was one of the last few on the planet, then maybe yes, restore it to original but why deny yourself the pleasure of flushing out the anoraks who'll appear saying "You do know that you have a light grey brake cable there? It should be medium grey. You also have a tie wrap there. That should be a satin black screw-on clip there" One of the reasons I used to park my BMW R65 engined Cossack next to the BMWOC stand at shows and rallies! ;D Go with what your gut and heart tell you

Triumph trash.
Ok, first ride of the year..... gorgeous weather, bright sunshine brings out the Triumph. Check the oils, drain the sump, pump the tyres up, re-connect the battery.... kick it over and it starts!!!!! Nice one!
Let it warm up, pull the clutch in and snap the cable! AR5E! 0 miles covered.... at least I know it runs.
Oh well..... I'll be fixing that first!

All sorted now. Repaired the cable, got a new one on order. Just have to check the timing (is a great design!!) but I want to change the points anyway!!!
Rough set it and had a quick ride up the road....... will always love the sound of a brit bike!

The points are fine for me, just need setting up and the gap maintaining.

Time for a small update. Sv trash. New battery fitted.... the 8 year old one gave up the ghost over the winter and 50 happy miles thrashing around wiltshire followed. Mot next week. Well happy!!! Triumph Trash A little potter on sunday evening was very plesent. But it did reveal that the low speed missfire is getting worse, much worse. Two potions, carb or ignition.... carb stripped, all ok. Ignition.... oh dear, a very weak purple glint off of the spark plug seems to indicate the coil is brown bread. A quick call to Greystone (suppliers of all things tiger cub) and these turn up In other news the Cub has now been on the road for 50 years. It was registered in Bristol on the 26 March 1962 by Glanfield Lawrence. First road tax.... £2/5s. Mind you fuel was 4s/10.5d per gallon!!!!! Mystery Bike Am off to look at a new project..... early days but suffice to say it is in a lot of rusty bits.
