More triumph Trash.... Another Classic bike run, another 100 miles under it's belt without issue. Action shot of the bike going through Avebury. Plenty to do over the winter though. These runs have shown up a few issues.

Makes a good read this thread Sounds like your having a lot of 2 wheeled fun. Colours on the Triumph really are rather pleasing, the grey sets the red off a treat.

Sorry, lots of words but no pics. Reason, chaos. Total and utter Chaos. If it has wheels it's broken in the past three days. All started on saturday with the GS Suzuki... GS Trash: Had noticed that the handling was getting a little "interesting" recently. A quick investigation showed over an inch of up and down play in the swing arm..... the cause, disintergrated bearings on the suspension linkage.... great! Took the rear end out.... easy enough, dropped the linkage out and found three rotted and/or non existant needle roller bearings. Two days and £70 later the bike is working.... Triumph Trash..... After the last few months of fun the triumph decided it on longer needed a main stand and decided to begin shedding the stand.... found it hanging on by one bolt wth the other awol!!! Over the weekend, yours truely managed to fall over and bend the front number plate. More work on sunday respraying the plate. Sv Trash. After taking the GS off the road the next thing I really needed was for the car to pop a spring.... which it promptly did on the way home on saturday night.... Much Swearing was emitted!!!! So the Sv was pressed into service.... come monday morning it decided for the first time ever not to start!! Grrrrrr...... Out comes the jump starter and off it goes. Ran like a sack of spuds going to work. Went to bristol to get parts for the GS got home to find a puncture in the rear ryre.... WTF!!! Has been a hectic weekend... and still going on! Trip to Crofton coming up!!

Scooter Trash.... Got a panicked phone call from the GF as the Scooter was pi**ing fuel everywhere!!! One Rac recovery later.... the scooter arrives! So, set to with an allen key and a screwdriver.... and it produces this and Stared looking at the fuel line.... totally perished! Split in countless places.... easy enough.... then look at the bit from the tank and see the same.... damn! That means draining the tank and removing it from the bike.... 12 litres of fuel and a few body panels later we have perished lines and Nice new! The lines have been perishe by ethanol in the fuel... as warning to all those with older bikes... check your fuel lines as E5 and E10 fuel will kill them. The fuel pipe I used was ethanol resistant. Also looked at a set of fork guards as the stancions have been beaten to death by stones.... not bad... should help. Now re-assemble and clean out what appears to be most of a wiltshire field full of mud from the scoot.... where she rides this I do not know... Now time to ride on of mine!!! ;D

More Scooter Trash!!!!! Another phone call.... the speedo's stopped working and there is a terrible noise coming from the front wheel.... WHAT??? I rode it last week and it was fine??? Is this thing cursed?? So set to the scooter front end this time.... Prop scooter andn remove wheel How else do you hold a bike you cannot jack up??? Remove wheel bearings and inspect... spot the knackered one... The damage to the wheel... caused by the speedo drive. Looking at the wheel one bearing protuded a lot.... looking at the bearing spacer, this was 2.3mm longer than the gap between the bearing recesses between the wheel... Now i know the spacer should be a bit longer, but 2.3mm is a lot longer... fettled it down to a mere 0.8mm longer... much better!!! Also found a spacer missing in on the front wheel... odd... but nothing that can't be added.... and the speedo drive was in dire need of s grease... All sorted, for this week!!!

Updates Lets start with the inevitable Scooter Trash.... ...Yes it's still breaking! Not much to photo at the mo, but the speedo drive has gone east, it got a puncture on the rear wheel and the fuel guage has decided to be innacurate. On a plus not a replacement seat and front forks have shown up. However speedo drives seem to be as rare as hens teeth! Triumph Trash. More Fun!! This time of the muddy variety. An autum trip to Sapperton via the backlanes of Wiltshire and Gloucestershire to a remote pub for lunch. Followed by a blast how down the Fosse Way Nice. However, westcountry lanes being what they ae the bike was plastered!! Good fun though.

Another update..... not sure if anone is reading anymore.... but just to amuse myself... GS Trash: A quick trip up to the NEC motorcycle show. 200 miles and not a beat was missed. Seemed a bit small though parked in amongst the BMWs and tourers.... The bike park Nec was good. Far more 250s and scoots this year, and more prominant. Here's my pics. Aprillia Automatic. Brilliant idea of an auto/semi auto/tiptronic motorcycle with in tank storage compartment. (the fuel tank is under the seat) Handlebar gear selector Parking brake! Saw this funky scoot. Loved the looks and the chrome!!! Metisse.... now there's some drool factor. A Metisse engined metisse and a Triumph metisse Other bikes Vespa - 70 year old scoot. Still cool. 1903 FN. Four cylinder shaft drive!! Back end of the gorgeous MV And the rear of BMW's new scoot. Love the jewl lights. This thing is vast. 650cc, headed grips, headed rider and pillion seat. Adjustable screen, the works.

i'm listening! your posts don't encourage comments, you know like if you asked a question or wanted an opinion you'd get comments. best thing to do is say something wrong, then there will be hoards of internet trolls people along to correct you ;D your triumph is very nice and it's good to see it getting used, and i like reports on whats breaking on current stuff like the scooter. loving the NEC metisse with the own engine and the FN, have a strange thing for wrong way around inline fours...

Cheers Dude.
Your probably right.... I tend to write what I've done rather that what I'm doing. As I'm not a fan of big mods, more of a resto person, there isn't much to debate.
Thike the idea of making a few mistakes..... could be fun!

Quick update. Not much to report of late. Scooter, Triumph and Sv are all tucked away. Have managed to get a speedo drive for the Scooter but not yet managed to fit the new forks. Still struggling to work a method of holding the bike without forks. Triumph Trash. New bits!!!! First let's have a shiney thing! New fuel tap to replace the leaking chinese sh*te I bought last summer. Other new bits are a new footpeg stud as the old one was dropping apaprt and new points as the chinese sh*te inly lasts a few thousand miles. More updates soon!!!!

Hi All. Not been up to much for a while. Too cold for me!!! Have still be riding, but no work on the bikes intil this weekend!!! Lets start with the scooter.... Major work. Scooter has been layed up since xmas due to it being too cold for the rider.... so the opportunity was taken to fix the mot avisory for the forks leaking. First issue..... lifting it.... with much head scraching and screw removal the belly pan came off.... (no pics - sorry) revealing the framework underneath.... and.... jacking points!!!! The first I have ever seen on a bike!!!! Great! Tried to take a pic but rubbish phone camera.... So, drill out stubborn bolt holding mudguard on (the other three came out easy... last one as ever didn't) remove mudguard, caliper, speedo drive, loosen all other bolts and jack scooter up... remover wheel, forks and send this pic to scare the GF.... Flying scooter!!! Old v's new forks.... v Lashings of copper grease later it's all back together.... Now lots of... To remove more dirt from the plastics..... and re-assemble and all is complete. Different..... my god it's transformed!! The old ones really were shot!!!! Had to change the speedo cable as well..... 1 hr job!!!! Mostly removing plastic!!! Triumph trash Found a rare thing on e-bay.... genuine lucas points.... Mmmmm.... shiney!!! Will be fitted once I get the bike out!!! Now after last year's fun with the engine I am determined to get the paintwork sorted on the cub this year. Speaking to Mike Estall, the expert on these things, he has looked in the books and rekons that the cub left the factory silver sheen and black. This is leaves me a dilemma.... I like the red, and all my docs record the bike as silver sheen and red.... do I go for factory original or stick with the good looking, if incorrect red..... Here is a black one.... What do you guys think??
