Not really that retro though on my classic bike policy all the same I've been on the hunt for a big traillie for a while and kind of had my heart set on a xt6 till I had a go on my mates one of these. The day the Suzuki sold I jumped on the back of my mates Dommy and set across town to hand all the cash (and a fair bit more) to a fella out Kingston way for this. Matt black and cosmetically not perfect but with sweet sounding lump and fancy end can, that's the one for me. Great fun on the way home playing with the traffic and able to see way ahead over most of it whilst racing making progress with my mate on his later model one. Put it in the dirt today too and road biased tyres aside it done good, should be well up for some fun with a set of knobbers attached. Found out the side panels used to be purple, rubbed through the paint with me MX booties already. Back home now, just going to pop out and put that badboy in the garage as it ain't insured after dark if I leave it out at home. The rest of the thread, if I remember to update will be a study in the depreciation of a good bike through proper use and abuse ;D I'll keep on top of the mechanics of course but like the TY, cosmetically it's down hill from here!

Nice, i love the simpleness and light weight of singles but hate the way the big ones chew up chains lol. what helmet is that, early AFX?

I like simple too, suits me just right. The previous owner said the C+S where nearly done for but I can see another few thousand in them TBH. Decent O ring chain is a given when the time comes.
Lids a Arai I got gifted. Pretty decent for off road and road alike unless your pushing on then your head kind of takes off a bit ;D
Washed it today. It's a honey moon thing, probably won't be happening too much in the future.

That looks a decent lid, I like the extra visibility these type of skid lids give. All good on the dommy front, been doing the daily commute with a few dirty excursions thrown in for good measure, no real faults showing up at present. Hammered in new wheel bearings fore and aft (only spotted the fronts when leaning on the wheel to get up after oiling the chain : fresh oil and clean filter some new rear pads and plenty of chain lube though that's it. Rode up to welsh Wales last Friday and gave it a serious pasting around the mountains which it took in it's stride (Harder springage would be nice mind to aid pressing on on the bumpy stuff) Took in some great roads on the way up and back down, I always feel I need a long trip to really get to learn a bike. I've learnt that when sitting on the saddle for 5 hours straight I need a more comfy seat! Parked up in Bourton for a pub lunch on the way home, the fuel fund/pub lunch gamble paid off as I ran onto reserve on Vauxhall bridge leaving more than enough to make it home without pushing

/\ /\ /\ Nice, dirt tracker in the making?
I have wondered if my gold cb500 rims will fit without much bother then I could run road wheels and keep the biguns for the dirt. Wondering is as far as I've got with that idea as yet though.

yamaha 200, not certain what exact model, got a cool alternator that doubles as the starter motor, very weird starting it no gear meshing noise. not sure whats the plan for our domi, just sticky tyres for more funs probably.

CS3E if I'm not mistaken Predessesor to the RD200 which carried on the same facility I had a few RD200 and my bast mate was very into the older YAS1 and CS3E models In fact I'm pretty sure he still owns his YAS3 and his KH500 (since 1982 - thats commitment)

thats the bunny, a yasi (at he calls em) is what my dad lost his leg on many years ago, although he likes his honda cubs, a bunch of mates wanted restored yas1's so he's back in to them now, bought himself the 200 cs2e with dodgey crank seals so he can go faster!

Still got the Honda and still in daily use. Much abuse thrown it's way with plenty of off-road action and a few bouts of down the road action too. The Honda has lapped it all up and the only failure to proceed has been a thrown chain on the way home from South Wales which was eventually sorted after much asking around, a brief stay in the pub and finally and thankfully some good friends coming to the rescue with a new (second hand) split link. Oil has been changed regular with a filter every second drop and much level checking in between, many consumable parts have been replaced and more than a few bits have been patched up. It's looking a bit worn though feels more mine with every mile. Side stand foot fell off as it had worn through, so I welded on a KTM bottle opener for multi purpose usage. Rear light and plate hanger has a habit of getting nibbled by the rear wheel in tough going so it got the chop and number plate was trail bike re sized at the same time. Yes, the bungee strap is a structural part (sub frame awaiting weld) Better though not yet fully tested, could of done a better job of fixing the number plate on straight mind! I'll be at the BXDE enduro again in a few months so it'll get a proper shake down then. Side panel fixed with stickers where they have cracked. No point in getting new ones to break again. Patina coming on a treat

A little pictorial update for anyone out there still interested in this old shonkey donkey. It's been very up and down of late, well up, over then down, back up and down again for a bit before coming to a halt some distance down the road to be exact. Back on my feet after a few attempts to walk back and find my fine steed leaking it's vitals onto the tarmac of south east London. Verdict = Cat C wright off The Vauxhall Astra above was an innocent bystander and was written off in the selfless act of saving my bike from the wall behind it. Also a wright off was the this 'sorrry mate I didn't see you' Puglet. I'm not a bitter man so have protected identity in a professional manor. Muchly thanks to a old pal of mine my fine moto was recovered from the scene without the need for impound wallet trauma or worst still getting left for dead in a shady part of town. Some time later this was purchased for a measly fee which perhaps surprisingly was in far worse condition than my own bike though did contain most, if not all the bits I needed to bring old blacky back from the dead. Much of this type of thing ensued Back in the game
