Hi Since i am too young to ride on the road at the moment, i currently ride motocross on a 2003 kawasaki kx85. As a modern 85, its safe to say its pretty rapid ;D Now for the big dilemma. My friend has a yamaha TY, and we occasionally go to the kelvoden hatch trial place, which is great fun. i can only have one bike, so to buy a ty175 would mean selling my kawasaki, which is ok as they are roughly the same prices, but i cant decide what to do. On one hand, i love the smell, sound and feel of a old, proper big (ish) 2 stroke and really enjoy trials, but on the other hand i really love the pure rush and the speed (not to mention the jumps) of the motocross bike. And the big problem is, i really love trials too. So, i need some persuation as to which i should choose

I understand your dilemma, am torn between the 2 myself having done by first trial at the start of the year on an old TY250. Always been into enduros myself but if it has at least 2 wheels and a engine I'm there. The need for speed is a addictive thing but trials is the best place to be with regards to developing bike control skills which will transfer to all other types of riding. Been going to Poles wood (Kelvedon Hatch) for years and love the place, my avatar pic is from there as it happens. Get the trials bike and keep Mr Parish happy I reckon

haha, what do you ride when your there? ive met quite a few people when riding there. the thing is, i would love to do both, but unless i can get a trial bike for under £300 its really not going to happen, and then theres the annual cost and a tenner every time The thing thats really annoying me is that yesterday i had my heart set on motocross, and now im tempted towards trials ! It really doesnt help that my local has a 250 montessa as a striaght swap or my motocross bike !!

Check the avatar, we ride trail bikes. The one in the pic is a CRF230 (jumping a CRF100) and is one of the fleet we use at Poleswood. Had a bit of grief in the past with people not knowing the difference between trail and motox bikes but we are up there so much most of the regular trials guys know use and what we are all about plus we put a fair bit of money in Mr Parish's pocket.
Sure I'll see you there sometime, I'll be in a silver Peugeot panel van with a load of kids in a minibus. Pop over and say hello.

Yep, i have sen you there before I was in a black merc 4x4 with a ty80 strapped to the back I see what you men about people not knowing about the trail/motocross difference. Most people dont realise the collosal difference between say, a crf150f and a crf150r How do the crf 'f's take to the jumps?
