Got the offer a carb (genuine Mikuni diaphragm type) from a GN250, anyone know if this could be used with the GN125? I'm guessing it would need re-jetting at least (?)

i would guess the jet would be a little bigger, but it could increase the speed of the bike but could make it worse on fuel, if it is cheap enough it could be worth a purchase ethier way.

Yeah I was thinking it could either give it some more speed or (more likely) flood the little 125 engine. Not had much luck in finding a genuine carb, everything seems to be pattern parts & I found (with pattern carbs for aircooled VW's), they're usually cack.

far as i can remember the gn125 has a 26mm carb while the gn250 (according to motorcyclespecs.co.za) is a 34mm, that's gonna take a whole lot of greasing and shoving for the a setup that just won't work. just fix the standard carb! found this while researching, i wanna see what the winning bike looked like! www.suzukicycles.org/high_milage_suzuki.shtml

Cheers Terra, I guess I'll have to get those buggered screws off the top cover. Thanks for the reply.

did i post the last time about being able to grip the heads of those screws with a vice grip? you'd only need new screws then and if you fail to move them, well the bike will still run..

I find the easiest way to get those screws out, Is to cut slots in them using a hacksaw and then just use a well fitting flathead screwdriver... Allways works for me
