Wow, has it been so long already??? Well, i never did get round to doing much work on the DT.... I got bored of being aimed at by Cage drivers as i had L plates on, and to be honest i got bored of the power level pretty quickly too. so i did my DAS ( passed everything first time ) and bought myself a bigger bike.... 2001 Suzuki Sv650S Been on the road with her for 11 days now, in everything mother nature has to throw at me, and i absolutely love it! Torque from the V Twin is just awesome, and handling is great! Needs setting up better for my size and weight, and the can needs about 5" taking out of it to sit it level with the rear tyre, but that will be taken care of soon enough! Cheers

Thanks guys, i love it! Its sedate enough to be fairly forgiving if i make a stupid mistake, yet absolutely capable when i get it right!
Once winter is out the way and i get properly used to the bike in corners at higher speed ill start looking into suspension mods etc to make the most of it, but for now, she'll do just fine with the sag set up and some heavier oil!

I did get good money yes, Made 50% profit on the bike after id taxed, MOT'd and fixed everything it needed. I could of got more if id refreshed the Cosmetics, but i was happy enough with what i got! Paid 75% of what the SV cost me so was well happy!

, would mind some SV wheels to see if they would fit the dt with some changing , i love the colour of the bike, is it a normal colour for the SV to have?

Yeah its one of the more common colours for an SV, but i absolutely love it. When its all clean and polished up, Its a slightly pearlescant metallic, so it looks properly stunning in the light!
But she wont be getting polished again now for a couple of months, she's covered in FS365 now to keep winter at bay!
As for SV wheels fitting a dt, anything is possible mate with the right spacers etc, but id have thought it would be a lot of work to get it right, and wheel widths etc may cause you problems with tyres fouling swingarm etc...

Well...... that didnt last long! I very quickly got to the point where i could keep up with more experienced riders through the twisties, yet the SV lacked the power to be able to keep up with them on the straights... Now by no means am I claiming to be the best rider in the world, and i wasnt near the SV's limits at all, but it just couldnt give me what i wanted, and i figured id still be learning all the time regardless of what bike i was riding, so i began to look at other options. Enter my new lady, 2003 Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat As she was when i bought her: With her friend: And as she now is: So far I have stripped and serviced the rear brake, cleaned and adjusted the chain adjusters, set the suspension for my size/weight, Fitted a HID headlamp, and changed the Yellow Rimtape for blue. Loving the new bike, just more capable than the SV was in every way, and quite a bit faster! I do miss the V twin sound of the SV, however The thundercat sounds pretty damn good with the full micron on there

A friend of mine brought a 1999 Thundercat when he passed his test, he said it was a nice machine.
