That's what I'm after - accurate metric dimensions of a generic 'Cub' type engine - the flat single 4T like those fitted to C90's, Monkey bikes, pitbikes and countless Chinese bikes. Ready availability, easily geared for small wheels, manual gears, cheap, and cheap to tune means they could be the ideal engine for my Capri scooter So, in order to work out if it will actually fit, I need to know the overall length, width and height (ideally with and without the carb - exhaust doesn't really matter) as accurate metric measurements. Anyone got one to hand? Ta, Dale

The lifan engines are based on the cub engines, and if you go to www.tboltusa.com, and go to the section named ''lifan 50-150'', all of the dimensions are in the engine's description. hope this helps

OK, I've measured the available space and as suspected, a Cub engine is far too long, as I don't really want the change to be obvious with an engine sticking out over the footboards I need something along the lines of a 100-150cc 4T single (CG125, SR125, etc, would be ideal) that's a maximum of: 14" long 9.5" wide (can maybe go a little wider) 15.5" high So gents, get measuring your little ones ;D Ta, Dale

16.5 high, including all the oil drain gubbins hangin off the bottom, 13 long, and 9.5 wide without fly wheel cover, but then of course theres the flywheel, so over all its about 11 wide.

Maybe go for a stroker? tiny, light and alot of power My kx85 engine puts out about 32hp, but it might be a bit of a handful on the road

Hmm...
Not being the world biggest 2T fan, I know very little about them. Are they much smaller then?
I suppose there's always the option of completely changing the back end of the frame and hanging a modern scooter automatic engine/transmission under the stock bodywork? Might give more room to play...

Yes, 2 strokes are alot smaller, but its mostly down to having alot more power per cc, so large engine is not needed. I cant really think of what other 4t you could use, as a cub style engine would be perfect, shame about the size :\

CB100N. Anyone remember those? They had a very compact 4T engine. I dont know the actual size, but i do think they might fit.
