Okay guys so on my new motorbike (pics soon) I have been connecting up dodgy wires etc from the person who bodged them before. They were all working fine until i tested the indicators. I went to left - fine, then flicked the switch to the right and all the power cut out (to the dash, lights etc). I am curious - is this the symptoms of a blown fuse? Help asap would be greatly appreciated! Lewis "

If the fuse has blown as soon as you put power to that circuit then this would sound like you have a dead short, ie a live connection which going direct to earth - thus dragging more power than the rating of said fuse - thus blowing it!. Try checking all the connections/wiring for obvious breaks/shorts, if this doesn't work then disconnect the wiring to both indicator bulbs and see if the fuse still blows with nothing connected - if it does this may indicate a wiring loom short, if not then the problem lies in the indicator bulbs/holders/earths/connections themselves. Edit.... The above assumes you have the correct rated fuse fitted to that circuit in the first place.
