Head light has stopped working on my cb250 super dream. It stopped working on low beam and only worked on high, i cleaned some of the connections and checked the fuses and it's stopped now alltogether. Everything else is fine, rear light works when you turn the switch on so assume its not switch, bulb appears ok

If so, You'll need a multi meter or a simple 12v test stick will do ( a few £'s from any Halfrauds). Then check you're getting power to the bulb via the holder, if this is OK then check the earth connection to the buld holder itself - even run a new temp earth to the metal headlight housing just to be certain the original is OK. Earth/power connections can give real problems when wiring gets to this age...

I once thought for AGES my old rxs had a serious charging problem, every time it hit 6000rpm the 6v light would fade, didn't do much night driving so years later when i replaced the bulb i was very surprised to find it was the vibration at 6k that shook the filament loose, for years it keep doing this!

I had the same thing with my dt headlight.
Lost main beam, wasnt so bad, then went over a bump and lose dip beam, dam.
Turned out the broken filament from main had hit the dip filament and fried that.
It may not look broken, but you really cant see a break sometimes.

if you can't afford a multi meter(or can't be arsed finding out where you put it like me), use a good bulb and a length of wire, earth the bulb to the chassis then connect the wire to the circuit you want to test, in this case the head lamp positive dip wire.

Check the ground. Superdreams are buggers for loosing the ground connection. It sounds like the bulb though....
