Scooter Trash update. Following the mot it was time to look at the advisory for the rear suspension..... It appears that the compensator arm needs new polybushes.... this links the engine to the frame... So on with the inevitable removal of panels.... Now scooters have a fun design, whereby the mainstand is attached to the engine..... so a ratchet strap, scissor jack and two axle stands later we have... Trussed scooter!! The axle stands stop is wobbling, the strap holds the frame up and the scissor jack takes the engines weight. Un plumb this lot..

Is now nearly back together. It starts, runs and has new coolant. Just need to put the bodywork back on and service the engine. No piccies as it's too dark.
Have had to repair the mainstand as one to the bushes was non existant and the tred was bent. That now works.
PS: Dungbug, have you seen the Bantam advertised on Retro Rides??? Looks like what your after.

PS: Dungbug, have you seen the Bantam advertised on Retro Rides??? Looks like what your after. Yup I saw it, would be perfect but having to replace the missus car just after Xmas has wiped out my cash along with the T'Cat needing money spent on it over the next few months (Tax, service, MOT....Just stuck a new tyre on the back at the weekend) I won't be on the lookout for a while yet unfortunately. Shame as it's the sort of thing I'm after.

Scooter Trash Grrrrrrrrrrr... f&%^&^%**ing... Grrrrrrrrrr... Finally got scooter back and road worthy, it rides real good and I get a letter from the DVLA saying it cannot be taxed as the frame number on the Mot and V5 don't match. Have to fill out a long form giving the reg number on the front ( ) and rear (as if they would be different anyway???) plates, Frame number on the V5, on the bike and on the MoT, ownern name, address, phone number, favorite drink... Then send it of and and now WAIT! Turns out the V5 is wrong...... can, worms.... open!

GS Trash... Time to fix this... Easiest remedy is to buy a new one as the Ebay ones aren't much cheaper and could be just as rotten. Easy... now for the real wallet rape... time to buy a new rear shock... Gulp!

The fek up is with the V5.
It seems the previous tester just copied the mistake without checking the bike. The tester this time checked the bike.
