From the Il libraio catalog I discovered two interesting releases. One of these had already struck me in August, when I saw the book in a bookshop in Norway. The other novel is the end of the pentalogy dedicated to Uhtred, by Bernard Cornwell. Z The Lost City by David Grann Z The lost cityYes, it was the cover that intrigued me. That tangled Amazon forest and mountain in the background. It evoked mystery and adventure. And the title was certainly no different. Finally, after being released in Norway, it also landed in Italy.
Perhaps the novel took the North-East Passage from the United States, who knows, or perhaps the Nordic translators are faster or perhaps... It ended up on my wish list of places where I buy books. Where it costs less I'll take it. The Warlord by Bernard Cornwell Z The lost cityI followed the events of Uhtred of Bebbanburg with passion. Four devoured novels, set in the early Special Data Middle Ages. I love this author, I have almost everything about him and you will soon read a dedicated article. As usual the title was translated without taking into account the original one, The Burning Land . The novel comes out in October. And there will be another book purchase in October. The mass follows the mass, not the individual.
He was amazed to ask himself, or rather to imagine, if an individual, just one, could move the masses. An idea to follow and pursue to reform, for better or for worse, the Rome and Italy of today. It could happen, but what are the consequences? With his mind almost immersed in those thoughts that he considered senseless, he did not notice the immense shadow that darkened the square for a few moments. In front of him he saw people rolling their eyes, but was anyone able to capture what passed over the Roman skies that morning? An elderly woman screamed and fainted. A passing gentleman promptly picked her up, placed her on a bench and tried to revive her. A group of onlookers formed and so no one noticed what that strange and gigantic shadow produced.
