Me and a freind are building a field bike out of bits and pieces, and the engine is a clr125 (honda), meaning it only has electric start.
There is no wiring amongst all the bits, so the plan is to use a pit bike loom for the spark, and completely seperate circuit for the starter. I need to know how i would do this and have a button on the bars/frame to start the bike - i think i will need to use a relay, but my electrical knowlaedge isnt really all that great ;D
Cheers

you will need a relay (should be able to buy one cheap on ebay). you'll also need starter wire / cable (heavy duty stuff) but you want to keep this as short as possible really.. (and if i remember correctly, the clr has the starter behind the barrel, underneath the carb / inlet manifold.. so it should be fairly easy to achieve this). its fairly simple to wire in a starter..as theres only 4 wires. input (from battery), output (to starter), and switch wires. then all you need is a push button, to activate the starter relay. im sure you'll pick it up soon enough

Ahh, cheers. I dont suppose you have the old engines from your bike do you? Its actually a clr with a SYM (chinese) engine and its lost third gear, do you have any bits left over?
