newbie with an old (ish) bike

Hi all,

Just a quick intro - I found this site from a link on Retro Rides and looking at some of the posts there are a few on here from that site.

I used to ride a lot 20+ years ago and some of the nice (and not so nice bikes I had in the 80'3 / early 90's were the usual stuff you'd see back then -
AP50, then DT 125, DT175, 400 Superdream, GT750, GS860, GPZ900R, ZX10 (the original one).

Unfortunately the ZX10 and I both ended up a bit wrecked after some dozy t**t pulled out in front of me so I gave up bikes for a long time and had loads of cars instead.

Got back into bikes this year and bought a new Yamaha 600 XJ6 which was great for getting my confidence back and perfect for commuting to work.

I've always liked older 'retro' cars and bikes so a quick browse on eBay this week saw me as the new owner of a 1989 ZX10, just like my old one
(same colour scheme as the one in this pic)

Picking it up next week so more details to follow but I know it has a blowing exhaust so any recommendations for exhast suppliers for an old Kawasaki?

They don't seem to list downpipes though, any idea what part of the exhaust is leaking?

looks really sweet, glad your back into biking. try finding someone who can braze, thats the best way of repairing small rusty hole in bike pipes.
