Having a big bike sitting there while I push the GN out for my commute to work would be depressing ;D I am warming to the CB's more than the GS's now, seems a late 90's CB can be had for under a grand which is perfect.

i passed my test before i got abiggun i must admit although i briefly had a kawa GT550 but got rid as i didnt know enough about bikes to sort it out... in hindsight it was just carbs but got my CBR about a month after passin the test... for me though i love riding the little 2 stroke just as much as the CBR but for totally different reasons

I've not riddern anything 2 stroke accept scooters, but i hear alot about their 'fun factor' ;D A '97 Bandit came up for sale locally not too long ago, looked very tidy, new MOT etc for £800 & I thought hard about buying it so I had it when my tests were done but I would have found myself giving it some short runs at the weekends (temptation would have been too much) ;D. I'm not looking for anything rare or particular so I'm sure I'll find something when the time comes, the CB is looking the favourite now as no one seems to have a bad word to say against them.

2 strokes are serious grin machines... my little RXS is only 100cc and i can get 80 out of it... ok thats lyin on the tank but not bad for a 20yr old 30,000 mile bike still on its original engine and internals... the smell and sound is intoxicating and they not arf draw a crowd when parked amongst the crotch rockets

The CB500 is still looking to be the favourite, can't seem to find anything bad said about them in general; Also noticed the XJ600's seem to be readily available and reasonably priced. Also been looking at the Kwak ZZR600, insurancewise there isn't much difference between this & the CB/GS/Bandit stuff I've been looking at. Late 90's examples seem to be under a k aswell. The thing that got me looking was a guy pulling up alongside me at the lights this week on a ZZR1100, it looked lovely. 1100 would be silly but I like the look of the 600, not sure how a Kwak compares to other Jap bikes for parts prices though (?)

i went down to an open day this morning at a nearish bike shop, why? they had a dyno, i brought my runner 180, it made 17.8hp, 2hp more then last time a few years ago, shop mechanics came out to see what all the fuss was about, kept having to tell people what i'd done to the motor.
gixxer 1000 crowd were a bit baffled ;D
