Part own this with a mate as of an hour ago It's been sitting for some time so is suffering from all the usual stuff but looks pretty clean considering the neglect. I've heard prices are on the up for these so fix and sell is the plan. Not had time to do anything other than clean up the oil slick it left in my Transit so not found any horror yet. Have that missing side panel too but not the pillion pegs Fore Aft Been sat in a front garden in south London so of course some scumbag has nicked the k+n's. Now, I'm no expert but round tank with square headlight don't look too original to me. Google shows me '82's with a squarer tank and different rear guard/tail unit. Still, am happy for the cash we paid. If the motor turns out to be a wrong un then it will either get sold on as is or break for spares. Breaking is last resort though as it always seems a shame with anything half decent. Of course what I would most like to do is keep it but I already own more bikes and cars than I can afford/justify

No progress yet, but we have found out it's a US import hence soon differant bits to the UK spec ones.
Lot's to do but first thing is to remove and unseize the front calipers as it's like trying to shift a dead weight at the mo. Once thats sorted we shall get that motor turning over then clean the carbs and try and get it fired up.
Got 2 more bikes to shift before starting on this one though, Fazer 600 and Honda 400 super 4 which will both soon be for sale giving room to work on the z thou.

You should keep an eye out on Ebay US for parts. Most of the sellers are happy to ship parts to the UK.
I know what you mean about pushing a bike with seized brakes. My T10 is a git to move around. And its only a scooter lol!

400/4 is still waiting for it's panels to come back from paint, I guess thats down to getting it done by a pal though Just to clear up doubledave it's the modern J import project big one super 4 and has fairly high miles (not that that is a worry on a Honda) and should hopefully look pretty tidy when back in one piece. It will go up for sale here first when finally ready so you can all fight over it ;D Back to the Z1, well not allot to report there other than it is now much more movable having taken off the calipers. I need to make some time to have a good look so I know what to be on the hunt for spares wise. I have heard prices for these are picking up and there is one up for auction soon at Bonham's which will be interesting to see. I promise I'll pull my finger out soon

erm, still heel dragging with this though we did find it was missing some gears. Turned out to be a selector problem which was a free fix . This ones next in line for some attention and will hopefully be running soon.

Cheers Davey This one's part owned with a good mate and we are looking at getting it a ticket and punting it on. We've done this with a fair few bikes now and yes I have wanted to keep lot's of them. It's currently all back together and waiting for a battery to charge to get it turning over Carb strip next methinks.

Sadly me and my pal how own this bike are now skint and I'd thought I'd put the feelers out to sell it complete before we brake it up for spares.
4 and half gets the lot.
Not without it's issues, engine turns but slow with plugs in. It sat for a while with open carbs after someone nicked the k+n's so could just need a good clean out. Tanks rusty and my pal had a go at sealing it up with fibreglass!
We've not done a lot to this though the plan was to get it going and sell with a full ticket. It's a great looking bike as can be seen and would make an awesome project for someone with a little time.
