This is my little project i thought id better bring over here For those of you that havnt seen it over on Retrorides... Heres the link: retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=othrmod&action=display&thread=99924Since buying it , Ive rebuilt the engine from bottom up, New seals and bearings, 70cc kit, and a new carb. Slightly advanced ignition and a b7 plug to keep the temp down a little. 3 shoe clutch to help it bite. Its also got a techno boss exhaust slightly wider tyres, and dropped bars. Ontop of all that its now got an MOT and tax for the first time since 1991 according to the dvla database. Ive rebuilt the hubs and regreased it all. DOWN&OUT fitted new shoes before i bought it. Along with new cables. Ive fitted a new throttle cable as the old one was buggered. Its still not finished. Ive got a new sprocket on order, Im going to make a new inlet as the 90degree angle in the current one is just stupidly restrictive. And im going to build a hightorque screamer engine on the bench for it ;D As bought putting the engine back in Sorta how it looks now... Bar LPLATES and the front mudguard is back on..

Performance isnt bad, Itll do 40+ on standard gearing , Which i gather is pretty good going from the gearcharts the mopedarmy in america have made. But ive just geared the sprocket down to 42 tooth and im getting 40 without realy trying which is nice.. Also tuned the clutch last night, To get it to grab better and it seems to have worked... And the sierras my dads new toy. XR4I with no rust!!!

Given it now goes faster I'd be looking at make it stop faster as well looking at the brakes in those pictures

Given it now goes faster I'd be looking at make it stop faster as well looking at the brakes in those pictures The harder you pull, The faster it stops ;D But na , In all seriousness, They are pretty poo brakes. Im not at all happy with them. But the Mot says they are way better than they have to be to pass. And even at 30mph they are scary if you dont remember just how hard you have to pull them.. Im going to save and buy some ebr forks and go hydraulic on the front i think...

God knows, Its a pushbike one i bought at an autojumble, BUT, the quill is too small for any pushbike ive had. But perfect for the puch. Its ALOT stronger than the standard setup, And rakes the bars forward without swapping my forks for later ones... So its WIN WIN

Brings back memories i had one new in 1973 If it makes you feel any better... My grandad did too... He hated it. He was used to driving around in his anglia but had the puch for getting to work at the Ford Transit factory down the road... He said the worst bit was working nights, Going past the pub with all the people sat outside at 6pm having a nice cold beer, And he was riding that god awefull 25mph puch on his way to work on a transit... ;D

Plans in the pipeline for this little beast... The bottom end has gone bang.. Annoyingly only idling in the garden when it went But it wasnt supprising. 50mph on a standard crank was going to end in disaster... Ive just today bought a NOS puch e50 crankcase!!! Genuine austrian not repro crap, Never used... ;D Its going to be kickstart this time, And its going to have a 19mm PHBG delorto With a topracing balanced stuffed racing crank Amongst ALOT of other things Watch this space

Love the way your tuning this Puch, making slow bikes go fast is for winners. Also that seat/saddle is pure joy
