Looking good fella Does the exhaust and 49cc kit make much of a difference?

Cheers Sammo, Yeah the exhaust had a huge impact. Lost a little bottom end, but makes up for it on the top speed. As for the kit, i haven't fully run it in/ tuned it yet, as my last piston seized up ! But it seems good at the moment, seems to have made up for the bottom end loss on the old barrel. I have upjetted it to 62, from a 57.5 and i think i may have gone a bit too high. Also my oil pump is dodgy, so i'm premixing, and also getting bursts from the oil pump now and again. Once she's done 500 miles or so, i'll blank the pump and do straight premix. I would recommend for anyone with an "old fashioned" ped like mine to sort themselves out with an expansion exhaust. It makes a whole load of difference. Theres some good Danish FZ websites out there which have tuning/gear up kits etc, not only for FZ50's but for all kinds of non-modern peds. Hope someone will find this post useful

Good idea, but I fancy one of those endure twin headlights by acerbis! Although they are 12 volt an my bike is only 6. maybe an external battery XD

My ped has 7/8 diameter handlebars which is the same size as mountain bikes and pit bikes. Ideal source of handlebars. The 'dropped' bars that I put on mine are basically 1" rise handle bars for a bicycle that I put on upside down. You'll easily and cheaply get pit bike handle bars and it'll give you the look your going for.

My bike has a 5.85/8 inch diameter stem which is a problem because i am unsure if a bicycle stem is the same :S! Might just need a pit bike front end!

Wow that is dinky! Pit Bike front end would be brilliant! Good choice of brakes and everything!

Yeah i was thinking a pit bike front, saw one go on ebay for about 20 quid a few months back, front wheel, bars, disk-brake - everything! Might be an idea, although i may have to modify it to use my original front wheel, as it'd be a slim chance of passing MOT with odd wheels wouldn't it?

Surely if they lined up, bearings were fine, tyre was good, spokes werent loose, it would be good to go? Pit bike wheel would mean you wont have a speedo anymore mind.
Also make sure you get forks with the same size diameter hole for the axle shaft. Most are 12mm, but you do get 15mm. If you were to use your original front wheel, all you would need to do is make up some spacers, maybe not even that if youve got a drum brake?
