Taken from my Retro Rides advert, just thought it might interest one of you guys as I know we all love a bit of retro

1986 BMW E28 528i SE Automatic classic sharknosed Beemer for sale at £500 firm, car is in Nottingham in the West Bridgford area. I am getting another car this week and this one has to go. I am doing a deal on a car for one of my motorbikes so this will be up for grabs as a free to run for a couple of months car as I believe the motor is worth 500 quid anyday of the week. Has MOT until June and Tax until the end of April if you get the car before Wednesday next week.
I got this motor as a swap for another car, this is the original ad for the car from Retro Rides.
1986 BMW 528i SE (E28)
4 speed automatic
cream cloth interior
137k miles on the clock
3 owners from new including myself, the last since 1991
Large history file and most old MOT's
15” BBS Alloy wheels from an E34 5 series, all in fair condition with plenty of tread in the tyres
The good points:
Bronzitbeige metallic in colour (the pick of the lot )
All working electrics including instrument cluster, prone to faults on the E28
New brake fluid and handbrake shoes
New OSF balljoint
New water pump
New front-rear brake pipes and rear flexi-hoses
Good chrome bumpers (very prone to rot on these cars)
Sills and jacking points recently repaired (all undersealed now)
Full boot toolkit
Large specification including:
Central locking
Front foglamps
Front armrests
Trip computer and check control
Cruise control
ABS
CD player
Electric windows (all four), mirrors, and sunroof
Factory Tow bar and electrics
Rear parcel shelf sunblind
Heated washer jets
Brown tint glass all round
Aforementioned BBS Alloys
The the not-so-good points
>Sunroof: Panel has rust bubbles, common on these cars, although does not leak. Interior trim panel is missing, and will need re fitting. In car boot to be fitted.
>I repaired a gash in the OSF wing, and the colour match is only good from ten paces
>Drivers seat squab has two small rips, although both squab and backrest side-bolsters are good. .
>The ABS light comes on at road speeds: One of the ABS wheel sensors will need replacing
>The dashboard has become cracked by sunlight, again, common on these cars
>The lower corner of the NSR valance has at some point been smacked. Not in a noticeable area, and should be all right for some basic welding, sealing and a blow-in.
>OSR wheel arch has begun to bubble under the lip
My thoughts on the car after 3 months and 1600 odd miles driving, needs front end tracking as tyres are starting to wear out on the edges. Needs brake bomb (accumulator) sorting, but I have spare good unit, just needs replacing. Car does a good 28-30 mpg on a run in cruise at 65, around town if you boot it substantially less Improvements would be decent suspension, manual conversion, Fritz exhaust and headers etc etc. Its a classic BMW Sharknose, its 26 years old and as such is not a brand new car. Its a driveaway cheap classic car and I won't take a penny less than £500 for it.
Pics:
Rear valance is just dinked in with a crack to the underseal, been like that since 1991 when it had a highly detailed inspection done on the car pre sale by the AA. As I said I'm looking for £500 cash only for this car. If your thinking about coming and making me a dim bid on the car forget it and lets not waste either my time or yours, this car is priced to sell at 500, please don't insult my intelligence or the fact I'm trying to keep this classic car available at a very reasonable price. PM me or phone 07980 381116 to arrange a viewing, thanks
