Cheers, not likely im afraid. Still waiting for my frame to be built before i can start mocking up to see what else i need. Did say it was a long term project though ;-)

;D Looked like a good score on the parts as well, shame there's no autojumbles close to home.

Well, a little progress. Scored a frame cheap so i can at least start to get things moving a little. Got my rear axle bolted in ( still needs a little tickling with the grinder but almost there) and then went to put my front end on. Bugger, seems my front end is too short as the frame has been raked out a bit so now im having to figure what to do. My forks are about 6" too short once the frame is sitting level ( sitting nose down in these pics) so i can either become an engineering genius and work out how to extend my forks 6", win the lottery and buy a set of 6" over girder forks at around £650 or have the neck chopped and welded back in at the standard angle to take my front end? hmm decisions.....

Chop & re-weld maybe, unless you can get some longer forks (with yokes) off another cruiser (?)

Think i have decided to save up for the girders. Will look ACE! have figured a temp solution for the front end that will allow me to get it sitting right and make it moveable so i can continue working on the bike while i save up. Figured that as im building this one as a 100% keeper then i want to get everything right rather than scrimping for the sake of a quicker build.

Sounds like the best way forward if it's a 'long term' keeper.

motocrosser front end? well beefy 50mm legs would look nice, but what i would do is: the caps at the top of the fork (if it does have caps), make new cap, same outer diameter of the legs, but six inches long, the just screw the extensions in. i tried to get a similar pic to show what i mean, and it turns out people are already making these things:

Looking good, nice lines. Are you sticking with the original lump or changing it for something different?

Will be the original lump from the donor trike which is a yam xj750 should hopefully have enough poke to trundle around with

New wheels! Obviously they need a refurb but will get powder coated at the same time as everything else once the build is complete. They are 13" x 11" and once i get the 1" spacers on ther it will give me a rear width of 46" which im thinking should be right as its quite a short trike, just need to find somewhere to check my calculations. Pics ( and yes the left tyre isnt fitted at the minute ;-) )

Cheers. Trying to decide on the bars at the minute. Not sure if i should use the apes that i have in a previous picture or go for drag bars to make the whole thing low and mean. Any opinions welcome

Unless you fancy yourself as Peter Fonda go for drag bars, got 'em on my POS & they're alot better than the Raleigh Chopper knock offs that were fitted before.
