Right so the bike i bought has a few electrical problems, and the ignition switch is one. It did have a household lamp switch connected to the red and yellow wire with another piece of wire wrapped round the yellow and bridged to the yellow/red, I have taken the switch off and want to just fit a toggle switch and have no ignition key, but i dont know which wires go were... Can anyone help, also the bike in question is a 125 chinese thing. The bike.. Thank You

that looks like standard soldering, repair whats there then flip over the plastic disc, you should see copper slide contacts are you missing the bit on the right?

Yep the bit on the right is what's missing...so I don't know what's meant to connected to what when the ignition gets switched on lol

just try connecting the brass contacts with spare wire and superglue until things start working. are you aware that the head light only works with the engine running? also if you follow the bunch of wires down to the loom, it should come to a block, pop it out of that block and head to a breakers, find some thing that fits and voilà sorted key and with a bit of fiddling you can swap wires about if the don't match correctly.

ah ha! lol smaller bikes have smaller battery's so to save them their lights run on ac straight from the engine while the really important rear light and the less draining auxiliary stuff run from the battery. so the steps for you is: 1 got spark? 2 got fuel? 3 start the engine! 4 then sort the other problems

Bobber....I've already started, got a nice sprung saddle, tank is coming off, got a few on my egay watch last to take its place, the back end is cut down now and should be hardtailed in the next few days.

Sounds interesting, get a build thread going chap. ;D Been playing around with the Bobber idea, just don't think I can bring myself to chop the back end around though. BTW, after you suggested eBay for some new bars I won a set locally tonight for the princely sum of £8 ;D, straight bars which was exactly what I was after so cheers for that.

I know its not the most comfortable of rides..but its not going to be a daily rider, I have a early c90 too which I will end up using, but my t25 camper is my daily driver, more practical plus I have a 2 year old. I will get a build thread up shortly, tomorrow I take my grinder to the back end, although I'm cheating and leaving the swingarm in place as its already same diameter as the frame.. Nice score with them bars mate..

Nice score with them bars mate.. Cheers Andy, it'll be another 'first fime' job fitting them but looks straight forward enough. My only concern is if the throttle/clutch cable will be long enough, we'll see. ;D
