I see quite a few names here that I recognise from Retro-Rides.
Hallo all, and for those that do not know me, I will add a few pics into the intro as well as the general board where I will try keep a thread on the reason I got here in the first place...... Refered by Davytelford, thanks mate.
I have ridden motorbikes since age 13-ish , first bike ever was a Honda XL250 on the farm (this was 1977-ish) and the first bike my dad bought us to play with was an old aircooled Yamaha RD350.
That was followed by loads of bikes, including about 3 vespa's over the years and loads of other stuff.
Mostly I tend to prefer the Dualsport or off road type bikes as that what I knew first.
I also currently have a BMW R1200GS for long distance work, or when Nicola rides with me.
I have always kept an old/retro car as well as a reliable modern for work, so have a thing for retros.

Oh, and I had one of these for a short while, but sold it on as it was not what I expected it to be.
Now back to the reason for registering on here.
MADASS !! By Sachs.
I was looking for a small bike or scooter to add to the Teardrop trailer for when we go away, to use for scooting about, and to fetch milk/bread etc.
I always like these bikes.
Have been watching them on Ebay, Autotrader etc for a couple of years, they never seem to drop to sensible prices. Even now the best you will find, is one I wanted to buy at £650 off Ebay, that the owner would do a BIN for £575 cash, but it is in Worchestershire, so a courier would add £130 to the price.
Last week Gumtree came up trumps, and I found a 50cc Madass advertised at sensible money. Done less than 5000 miles, speedo replaced, and new one does not work either. No Tax/MOT, needing some TLC.
It needs a new rearview mirror on the right, the front right indicator works intermittently, but hardly. The back wheel has a fast leak, which sounds like it is at the valve (maybe the tube is perished or punctured) The clutch is very noisy when you pull in the clutch lever, so maybe a new cable. The clutch lever is broken too.
I am not sure if anyone else on here has a Madass, or knows them, but I am happy to learn.
I want to get it MOT'd in the next week or two, tac it and then ride it to the shops etc. The power is staggeringly underwhelming, but that does not bother me.
Over time the plan is to clean up and repaint the exhaust, and replace cheap and nasty buts like the air filter.
When I got home, I started it up and rode up to the farm to take some pics.
Then back home and one in 4th gear it seems it will maintain the same speed all day, even with my sheer bulk on it.
I washed it, dried it and put it away in the garage, as Nicola is not impressed with my purchase..... "Why do you need another bike ? "
This is a learning curve as always, so info, advice, comments, pisstaking etc greatly appreciated.
Cat Scan just after it got home. Harley was over and on top of it, as previous owners have cats too.
Wanted to get a pic next to the big John Deere Tractor, but it was parked tight between other implements.
JCB will have to do.
Back at home after a wash and clean.
Nicola has seen it and just commented "UGLEEEE ! " and walked away. So not impressed.
Clean enough for now.
