Selling my Peugeot 205 1.1 as I just fancy something else after owning this for over 8 months, don't get me wrong I love the car but I originally got this for my son but he has shown no inclination to pass his test. As its a 1.1 it just doesn't quite have the get up and go I want. Its happy to cruise at 60/65 and I have seen over 90 on the speedo (private road ), does a good 45 to the gallon on a run at 60 mph. This is the car as I got it.
In the time I have owned it it has had new driveshafts (both sides), new front discs and pads, GTi seats, centre console, carpet, doorcards, new door pockets, rear spoiler, steering wheel, parcel shelf, GTi badges on the rear quarters, basically all the stuff you'd like to have on a bog standard XL to make it somewhat more special. In the last 6 weeks its had an oil change, oil filter, plugs, air filter, transmission oil changed for new when the driveshafts were fitted. It comes with 5 tyres in the correct size for the 1.6 GTi wheels that are fitted, 1 brand new and four with less than 1k miles on them. Haven't fitted them as the ones on the car are legal.
Has a Beat 175 head unit, mp3 player, IPod, SD Card player running through Alpine speakers in the front doors, sounds pretty good.
Ok like all cars that are 21 years old it does have its bad bits, drivers door has several carpark dints.
Passenger side has just one or two but some helpful little scrote has scratched the door panel and rear quarter.
Plus on the passenger side a previous owner has caught the lower panel and scraped it.
Bonnet has a few stone chips.
Near the drivers door lock there is a bit of scratching and also near the petrol cap.
Font drivers wing has a dint above the wheel arch, same as the tailgate has a dint on that too, dint above passenger door on roof line.
Other bad points, if left for a few days it does slightly smoke on startup but this quickly clears and there is no smoke either on acceleration or overun. Drivers door on full open clicks. Every now and again it hesitates slightly on pull away but it is so infrequent I haven't bothered having a look at the jets in the carburettor. Sunroof doesn't open, its been siliconed up and I have not investigated why, plentiful on EBay if you want to replace it with working parts.
What is does get all the time is 'That car is in great nick mate', its only when I point out its faults they see them, from 10 foot away it looks stunning, well does to me but I am the beholder and all of that cobblers. ;D There is no rust on the car, galvanised from new etc etc.
I'm looking for 650 for the car but I am open to a swap for the right vehicle. Those being, E28, E30, A4 Avant, petrol or diesel varieties of those models, try me. Estate versions would be nice but a good saloon or coupe could be a goer. If you think you have a car that might be of interest to me, please feel free to get in touch, I don't bite.
As some other sellers have pointed out recently, there is no discount for travel, there is no room to manoeuvre on the price, sorry but your getting a great little car for not a lot of money, better than the modern tat thats running about and a classic insurance vehicle. If I don't sell it then I won't be crying, the mileage will be going up as I am using it but not as a daily driver.
You can reach me on my mobile number above or PM me, I do check this forum fairly regularly so it won't be long before you get an answer.
I've tried to be as honest as I can about this car, not like the person who I bought it off who told a few untruths about the car just to sell it, I am not in the business of selling cars I'm an enthusiast who loves his vehicles both on 4 wheels and 2.
