Hi
All went to retro rides gathering on my bike had not finninshed my car.
Bought the tickets so went on my bike with some friends who had tickets as well they took all my camping gear.
The beginning was good buetyful weatrher nice and slow only go on A roads as bike has a tendency to stop and on the motorway could be a problem.
Got 35 miles from the gathering bike cut out had a split in the carb rubber that was new 2 weeks a go needed a jump start so called the car with the camping gear who had gone on the M40 they said would be an hour so sat waiting?
A kind man stopped to help and said he had a unit down the road where he makes land speed motorcycles.
So a coke bottle cut up and over the top of the carb rubber held with 2 clips and the bike was running sort of would start but reved high carried on my journey as the bike revved so high as I got nearer the front brake start smoking then ceased on through Worchester was exiting.
Then into the country if I left the bike for 10 mins the front brake would release.
The lanes where a bit of a mission could not go down the steep hills with the engine running so off with the engine and lights and rolling into the darkness.
As I got to the gate was met by sucurity had been informed I would be there at some point.
With the help of the man with the black celica a new hose was fitted Sunday morning and then a 120 mile trip back to London.
Had a great weekend hope to take a car next year but still enjoy the bike.
The bike is a 1984 Armstrong mt500 with ccm 604 engine converted to electric start.
