If you're getting, fuel, spark and have decent compression it'll run.........So one of these must be missing. Are you getting a strong spark at the plugs? Is fuel getting into the cylinders? Have you done a compression test? Is the engine turning over/firing up and dying? More details would help.

I don't think it's getting a spark, there doesn't seem to be an ignition or kill switch of any kind?as I know nothing about these,I'm not sure what should be on the bike?there all so seems to be a primer behind the back seat?. I do apologise for sounding stupid but I know absolutely nothing about it and really need help with it.

There should be a cut off switch on the side stand, but the bike should run with the side stand down if it's not in gear.

Time to check that the coil is getting power.

no ignition, um... theres the problem! seriously post some pictures of what you have there. for all we know there's no loom either. a basic ignition system is easy to wore in, but without seeing what there is already in place its going to be hard to diagnose what your problem is
you say i dont THINK its getting a spark.... it either is or it isn't. take out the spark plug leave it plugged into the sparkplug cap and place electrode end somewhere on the cylinder head that it will earth with, hold the spark plug cap not the spark plug or you may receive a shock try to turn the engine over and observe the gap between the two electrodes for a spark. if there is a spark then at least we know there is an ignition and power is reaching the coils
if there is no spark, then its time to follow the wiring back from the coils

just googled as i wasnt farmiliar with the bike, similar engine set up to honda's cub - very basic and easy to work with signal generator to coil to spark plug so there isnt a lot that can go wrong the engine in your nvt is a franco morini mo1, theres more info if you search that. i had a quick look for a wiring diagram for you but didnt find one, theyre not hard to wire in any case - you should have green/red/black wires coming from your signal generator?
