Hello folks,
Been a very very long time since ive been here.
I recently aquired a twist and go for about 30 quid. Not in bad condition, but its got a running problem. I managed to get it running, but it'll only run for 10 seconds at a time.
Its been stood a long time, so i cleaned the fuel tank out of gunk, ditched the old fuel and put new fuel in. Gave the carb a blow through too.
When i get it running, it'll run, feel really powerful and willing and then just lose compression and die. I pull the fuel pipe off, let the fuel gush out and then put it back on again, and it will run again.
So to me, this feels like an airlock problem, Though ive tried running it with the cap off so im a bit lost as to what this is?
Its the only thing stopping me getting it together and in for an MOT so i can make a tidy profit on it!
Any ideas?
Thanks.

What bike is it? What colour is the plug? Airfilter connected properly? Checked for airleaks around the carb to inlet?

^ whs and pop the exhaust off and check the piston. no idea what you have, but it may have a fuel pump, perhaps incorrectly wired?

connect a different tank and see if that cures the problem sounds like tank breather but as you ran it with cap off and ran into the same problems it cant be when it runs can you give it full throttle?
