hey guys, 1st post an all that so i thought id show you what iv been messing with lately.... iv been chasing this bike for the last 16 years, the owner finally caved in to my constant pestering ;D as found.... its been sat outside for the last 4/5 years as its space in the garage was taken up by his scrap copper bin after a quick bucket of water..... wont bother going into details about what needed cleaning/ adjusting/ kicking/ re-newing...................... there was plenty so, mot'd and taxed (1st time since 1988!!) and back on the road, terrorising the locals where it belongs however, the handling soon became a concern as every corner taken at speed felt like we were falling down a spiral staircase !! something needed to be done............. enter this..... which quickly led to this........ mix the two together and........... other than paint we're about done, its handles nicely and for the 1st time it stops when you want to stop - not when it felt like it ;D just for good measure (well, I was on a roll !!) I converted the ole thing to hyd clutch too ... paint next

t'was a fairly painless swap, the front end just bolt straight in (nice , the swingarm needed a spacer tube to enable me to use the original z spindle (16mm - zrx 20mm) and it all slotted together, had a little trouble with the sprocket aligment, had to do a 530 chain conversion and use an aftermarket 18T zx10 front sprocket with a washer........i mean, custom shim ( ) behind it to get the sprockets in line, just want another pair of shocks to replace the honda ones on it, change the exhaust (have never liked harris pipes much!!) and that'l do

nothing much to report, have been using the ole girl everyday but things are about to change........... i might have to sell it my daily trudge to work is about to go from 10 miles to 50+ due to a house move so im thinking something a tad more modern is on the cards, not that the zed isnt up to it of course, but i just wont have the time (or means.....its my only transport!) to take it off the road to finish it off !!!! we'll see

Surely you could pick up a early cbr6/bandit/sv 650 for practically nought? especially with a bit of road rash, second bikes don't have to be nice/shiny in anyway

Surely you could pick up a early cbr6/bandit/sv 650 for practically nought? especially with a bit of road rash, second bikes don't have to be nice/shiny in anyway it'd need to be 'nought' too as im terminally skint due to having to find the deposit for the new house still, we'll see what happens but for now have a couple of pics
